Dr. Tai received her Bachelor of Science degree, Magnum cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1986.  She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree with honors in 1990 from the University of California, San Francisco. Persuing her interest in periodontology, she received her postdoctorate degree in Periodontics at the of University of Washington in 1992. As a board certified periodontist, Dr. Tai has maintained her private practice in San Ramon since 1992.
 
In 1998, Dr. Tai attained a truly significant achievement in her professional career by becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.

In addition to her private practice, Dr. Tai was on staff as a lecturer and an assistant clinical professor of Periodontics at the University of San Francisco and at the University of the Pacific.

Dr. Tai is an active member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association and the American Academy of Peiodontology. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Contra Costa Dental Society.
